The UP Law Aptitude Examination (LAE) is a critical entry requirement for admission to the UP College of Law, assessing skills necessary for legal studies. It includes tests on Communication Skills, Reading Comprehension, Critical Thinking, and Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning. The LAE is administered once a year usually in March via ExamSoft, a secure software platform used to administer computer-based exams, providing features like lockdown mode and remote proctoring to ensure exam integrity.  Important dates and other details will be posted on our official FB or on our website.  Applicants must hold or be completing a bachelor's degree and submit all required documents online.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or be in the final year of a program recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Specific undergraduate majors are preferred, and minimum units in certain subjects are required for non-preferred majors.

Registration Requirements:

  • Official Transcript of Records (OTR)

  • General Weighted Average (GWA)

  • Proof of graduation or senior standing

  • ID picture and proof of payment

Applicants previously or currently enrolled in another law school must submit additional documentation, including a certification of good standing. The application fee is Php1,500, payable online or onsite.

System Requirements for Computer-based Exam:

Applicants must use a device that meets the ExamSoft system requirements and have a stable internet connection. During the exam, ExamSoft will block internet access but with strict monitoring capability, allowing you to complete the exam without needing an active connection. However, a stable internet connection is required to download the exam materials before the exam and to upload your encrypted answers afterward.

Important Admission is contingent on compliance with all application requirements, including document submission and adherence to the UP College of Law's standards for academic and conduct records.
